LDI Product Warranty

89 North warrants the LDI light source will conform to published specifications and be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and handling per the user manual for a period of two (2) years from the date of shipment. During the warranty period, 89 North, at its discretion, will repair or replace the product, components, firmware, or software to restore the LDI’s performance according to the published performance specifications. 

The warranty does not include:

  • Damage from misuse, neglect, accident, misinstallation, or unauthorized alteration or repair
  • Normal wear and tear of consumable components, including but not limited to optical fibers or liquid light guides
  • Damage from improper use or use which does not conform to operation as described in the product’s manual
  • Shipping and handling damage which occurs subsequent to customer receipt of product from 89 North
  • Discretionary firmware updates

89 North reserves the right to deny warranty repair or replacement of LDI units that appear to have been damaged by misuse or improper use. The warranty is voided when the safety interlocks are defeated and when covers other than the fiber access cover are removed.   During the warranty period, 89 North will, at its option, repair or replace components with new or reworked components.

LDI Accessories: 

89 North warrants LDI accessories to perform to standards published by the manufacturer and be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and handling. During the warranty period, 89 North will, at its option, repair or replace accessories found to be defective or to fail to conform to published specifications, provided it is returned to 89 North and is determined by 89 North to be defective.

  • Fibers: In addition to statements above, external output optical fibers are subject to a one (1) year warranty from the date of shipment.
  • Power supplies: In addition to statements above, power supplies purchased as accessories are subject to a two (2) year warranty from the date of shipment.
  • Breakout Boxes: In addition to statements above, breakout boxes purchased as accessories are subject to a two (2) year warranty from the date of shipment.
